The Science Behind Aurado: Why You Forget & How to Stop It

Have you ever spent hours memorizing a list of vocabulary words, only to forget most of them by the next morning? You are not alone, and it is not a flaw in your intelligence—it is a feature of how the human brain works. In the late 19th century, psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus discovered the Forgetting Curve, illustrating that we lose a massive percentage of newly learned information within the first 24 hours unless we actively review it.
The Antidote: Spaced Repetition System (SRS)
At Aurado, we didn't just build a flashcard app; we built an advanced learning engine designed to hack the Forgetting Curve. The core of this engine is our Spaced Repetition System (SRS). Instead of reviewing words every day (which is inefficient), or reviewing them randomly (which leads to forgetting), SRS calculates the exact moment your brain is about to forget a word and tests you right then.
In Aurado, every word goes on a journey. It starts as 'Fresh'. When you learn it and answer correctly 3 times in a row, you achieve mastery for that session. But the real magic happens later. The word moves through 7 Stages of Memory. As you successfully recall it in our Recap sessions, the gap between reviews grows—from 24 hours, to 2 days, to eventually, a lifetime.
Avoiding the "Memory Traffic Jam"
Many learning apps fail because they allow users to bite off more than they can chew. If you learn 100 new words today, you will have 100 words to review tomorrow. If you fall behind, you create a "Traffic Jam" of pending reviews.
To solve this, Aurado features a Dynamic Session Redirection Logic (Pacing Mechanism). If our system detects that you have a backlog of words waiting to be revised, it gently pauses your ability to learn new lessons and redirects you to Recap sessions. The ratio perfectly adapts to your backlog (e.g., 1 recap for a small backlog, up to 4 recaps for a massive one). This ensures you build a solid foundation instead of a crumbling tower of half-learned vocabulary.
Smart Forgiveness: The Mistake Manager
Learning should never be frustrating. We all have those "stubborn words" that simply refuse to stick in our minds. Aurado's Mistake Manager is designed with immense empathy. If you fail a word 3 times in a row, or 5 times total during a session, the engine employs "Smart Forgiveness". It drops the word from your current session to relieve your cognitive load, saving it as a "Weak Word". You can practice it later when your mind is fresh, preventing frustration and keeping the learning experience purely joyful.
The Power of the Gamified Economy
Science is only effective if you actually use it. To ensure you come back every day, Aurado uses a brilliant Heart and Seed Economy. You earn Seeds and XP for correct and fast answers, but mistakes cost you Hearts. Out of Hearts and Seeds? Our beloved mascot, Chiku, will offer you a "Loan" of hearts, putting you in "Seed Debt". It adds a thrilling, high-stakes layer to vocabulary learning that keeps millions of learners hooked.
